Reedham Swingbridge
Reedham Swingbridge
Another swingbridge on the Norfolk Broads at Reedham, part of the extension from Reedham (on the 1840s Norwich to Great Yarmouth line) to Lowestoft. It is one Grissel and Petos standard design as seen at Somerleyton TM4796 : Somerleyton Swingbridge. The line was opened in 1847 passing Sir Morton Petos home (from 1843) at Somerleyton Hall. There is mostly passenger traffic in 170 and 156 units, sometimes freight is diverted up here. The ports now use road instead or rail and newspaper trains ended a few years ago.
A few baby ducks in the bottom of the picture.
