The Old Boiler Position
The Old Boiler Position
A small steam boiler sat here from the 1880s to the 1960s when sold for scrap along with the engine TG4403 : Site of the Steam Engine.
I was allowed in for a short while as a group of Dutch millwrights has booked a visit.

Unfortunantly the old steam engine and boiler and long gone but this once overgrown building has been restored along with Polkeys Mill beside it by the Norfolk Windmill trust with Wren and Lottery money. It was constructed in 1880 by Richard Barnes of Great Yarmouth for John W Rose. Housing a small single cylinder steam engine with coal fired boiler. A coal storage room was built to hold an entire wherry load of coal. The chimney which has been reduced in height is now leaning.
