Young birch trees and ferns in Walberswick National Nature Reserve
Young birch trees and ferns in Walberswick National Nature Reserve
Formerly used by the military, Walberswick National Nature Reserve is one of the most diverse sites in the UK, with an internationally important and unique grouping of habitats in a small area. These include reedbeds, heath and grassland, grazing marshes, woodland, shingle, saline lagoons and the mudflats and saltmarshes of the Blyth estuary. The dismantled trackbed of the (narrow gauge) Southwold Railway > LinkExternal link traverses part of it.
