SN2042 : Pontrhydyceirt

taken 8 years ago, near to Cilgerran, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro, Great Britain

Pont-rhyd-y-ceirt: bridge of the cart ford. Presumably the bridge took the place of the ford.
A hamlet that was in Manordeifi parish, now part of Cilgerran.
The house in view, on the left past the bridge, was the home of locally-renowned, self-taught photographer Tomas Mathias (1866-1940) who captured a unique pictorial record of rural life in the surrounding area and whose old glass negatives were left neglected in the house until rescued in recent years.
