Moth caterpillar webs
Moth caterpillar webs
These bushes appear to be thickly coated with spiders' webs, but they have actually been spun by moth caterpillars. Although a bit north of their range they look a bit like Lackey Moth webs, but unfortunately there no larvae present to make a definite identification. For a close-up of one of the webs see SJ8757 : Caterpillar "tent".
