NR9738 : Weir on the Garbh Allt

taken 12 years ago, 4 km from Brodick, North Ayrshire, Great Britain

Weir on the Garbh Allt
Weir on the Garbh Allt
Brodick's water comes from here. The original iron pipe can be seen, augmented here and there by more modern sections of blue polythene where the iron pipe has corroded away. This is a weir rather than a dam - the Garbh Allt runs pretty continuously through the driest spells.
