St Edmund's church appears to have been rebuilt during the 15th century. The building has hammerbeam roofs with carved angels and above the rood screen the original celure > LinkExternal link can still be seen. The roofs were repainted in the 19th century, closely copying the original colours and decorations as was the wineglass pulpit > LinkExternal link which dates from the 15th century. The chancel screen > LinkExternal link combined with the parclose screens of both north and south aisles stretches across the whole width of the church > LinkExternal link. The chancel screen dado is painted with apostles on a background of gilded gesso ornaments > LinkExternal link. The north aisle screen panels depict angels > LinkExternal link and prophets > LinkExternal link are painted on the panels of the south aisle screen. The panels of the seven Sacraments font > LinkExternal link have been removed, the font cover is part of the Victorian restoration. The carved elbow rests > LinkExternal link and misericord seats in the chancel are original and date from the 15th century.
