King's Chair Hill was on the route the Scottish army took from their camp on Flodden Hill to their destruction at the Battle of Flodden Field in 1513.

The Battle of Flodden Field :: NT8837
Also called the Battle of Branxton Moor. It was fought on September 9th 1513 between an invading Scots army under King James IV and an English army commanded by Thomas Howard, Earl of Surrey. It ended in a victory for the English and was the largest battle (in terms of numbers) fought between the two nations.
