Lesser Stitchwort (Stellaria graminea)
Lesser Stitchwort (Stellaria graminea)
Common throughout the British Isles LinkExternal link but often obscured by other vegetation in its preferred habitat of acid grasslands. Here it was growing in great profusion in the short grass alongside the road, with a mass of small flowers, each with five deeply cut petals, half the size of those of its common cousin, Greater Stitchwort.
