The view from within the chamber as the water rises to fill it.

The Trent and Mersey Canal. There is a flight of five locks at Fradley Junction, together dropping the water level by 35ft 8in (just under 11 metres). Here the lock is three quarters full. The picture was taken from a narrowboat in the lock waiting to continue south-westwards.
