Repointing in Progress
Repointing in Progress
At some time the surviving masonry of Urquhart Castle has been pointed using cement. This is now not thought to be either good practice or the best method of ensuring the long-term survival of the ruins, so this team is removing the cement and repointing it using traditional lime mortar. They are likely to be kept busy for some considerable time, as there is a lot of surviving masonry.
