NO3926 : The Tay Bridge from Wormit

taken 7 years ago, near to Wormit, Fife, Great Britain

The Tay Bridge from Wormit
The Tay Bridge from Wormit
This bridge was built between 1882 and 1887 to replace the earlier bridge that was famously partially blown down in December 1879.
Looking towards the city of Dundee with the Sidlaw Hills in the far distance.
The hill on the right is Dundee Law with its war memorial and transmitter tower.
The Chinese State Circus was visiting and their impressive big-top and bright yellow lorries can be clearly seen on the bank near the far end of the bridge.
