NS4576 : Dry-stone wall beside the Fyn Loch
3 km from Bowling, West Dunbartonshire, Great Britain

Dry-stone wall beside the Fyn Loch
The continuation of the wall can be seen on the far side of the loch (and is shown in NS4677 : Dry-stone wall beside the Fyn Loch); it leads past the western side of Duncolm. About 2km from the point from which the present photograph was taken, the wall passes the south-eastern tip of the Lily Loch.
There used to be a cairn at the southern end of the Fyn Loch; it is mentioned in a charter of 1609: see NS4477 : Rock outcrop at Darnycaip.
On the right, the dark line of a footpath can be seen crossing Fynloch Hill. Further to the right, what looks like one hill in front of another is simply the irregularly-shaped Middle Duncolm; compare NS4677 : Middle Duncolm.
On the skyline, the broad, flat shape of Auchineden Hill (NS4980) appears to straddle the far end of the wall. Behind its left-hand end, the more distant Campsies can be seen.
