Nant Carfan
Nant Carfan
The stream draining the moor above Craig Fawr descends very rapidly into a very deep valley and down a series of waterfalls defined by the harder beds of sandstone which outcrop among the ubiquitous Silurian mudstones. Trails of loose rock record the position of the sandstone beds on the opposite hillside. In the distance the outcrop of the mudstones has created the steep, un-vegetated hillside of Craig Fawr.
