Field Rose (Rosa arvensis)
A native rose of hedge-banks, scrub and even woodland, being moderately shade-tolerant. The flowers are white or pale cream, and the five petals are deeply notched. The purplish colour of the young shoot is characteristic; it later turns green. Common in south and west England.
