SH9008 : Red ford

taken 8 years ago, 3 km from Pentre-Celyn, Powys, Great Britain

Red ford
Red ford
Rock outcrop struggles to the surface of the bog here, where there is a shallow ford. The water is murky and the rock is stained red, which possibly indicates leaching of iron in the acidic water from the bog. The distant hilltop is crowned with a forestry plantation that did not appear on my 1984 edition map.
