This public house is a gem, of the type that is becoming increasingly rare in our fair land. Don't come here expecting to find poncey Gourmet-style 'food' or over-priced coloured water with miniature umbrellas sticking out of the top. What you can expect is Harvey's Sussex ale, perfectly brewed and kept, to be enjoyed in the cool dark wood interior or in the well-maintained garden. A pub to be treasured, it dates from 1600.
