A sunken railway track from Parkend Station crosses New Road then ends at the edge of the grass. Formerly, Parkend (now the northern terminus of the heritage Dean Forest Railway) was a junction, with a line west to Coleford and Monmouth, and north to Cinderford and Lydbrook.
