Tavistock Roman Catholic Church
Tavistock Roman Catholic Church
This church was built in 1867 and was intended as a place of worship for miners as the richer people of the parish did not like mixing with the lower classes over worship. The massive scale of the church might have been intended as some sort of lesson in politics to the working class worshippers. It fell into disuse and was bought after the Second World War for use as a Catholic Church.
