Parkend station viewed from the footbridge
The view north on a Saturday in late June 2010. A train from Lydney Junction has just arrived at platform 1. Parkend is the northern terminus of the heritage Dean Forest Railway. The train was hauled by famous locomotive City of Truro, LinkExternal link which is claimed to be the first railway locomotive to exceed 100mph. Some dispute this claim.
