Boardwalk in Fordham Woods
Boardwalk in Fordham Woods
Generically known as Fordham Woods, this area is strictly called Hall Yard Wood. This area of wooded wetland is a nature reserve, owned and managed by the Cambridgeshire Wildlife Trust. In the past, villagers used the site to cut reed for thatch and to collect wood for fuel. A boardwalk made from old railway sleepers enables visitors to circumnavigate the site without getting wet.
