Aire And Calder Navigation, Kings Road Lock
This grade II listed lock on the Calder Cut of Aire and Calder Navigation was opened in 1839. Constructed by Engineers George Leather and Sons of Leeds, using sandstone in large dressed blocks, and wooden gates. Quadrantally curved entrances at each end. Upper and lower gates now operated hydraulically, by electric power, but manual until 1960's.
