Dry stone wall near Caw Gap
At this point Hadrian's Wall is completely missing although much of it will undoubtedly be appearing in the dry stone wall which occupies pretty much the same course. It is odd that the Romans chose not to build over the crest of the knoll - even at full height the knoll would have been higher than the top of the Wall.
