My botanical knowledge does not extend to making a definite identification, but this looks like some kind of hogweed on the road between Tranent and Fa'side Castle.

[Anne Burgess tells me that "it's native Hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium), not to be confused with the introduced invasive nuisance Giant Hogweed, though equally poisonous".]
