SH6278 : Afon Lleiniog

taken 7 years ago, near to Llangoed, Isle of Anglesey/Sir Ynys Mon, Great Britain

Afon Lleiniog
Afon Lleiniog
The small stream of Afon Lleiniog crosses the sand and mud of the beach here into Afon Menai, the Menai Strait, with the Welsh mainland in the background. The 1:25,000 map calls this place Gored Tre-Castell. 'Cored' means a dam or weir, but in this case it refers to a wicker fish trap which once operated on this site, though there seems to be nothing left of it.
