TQ4440 : Scarlett's Lake

taken 18 years ago, near to Cowden, Kent, England

Scarlett's Lake
Scarlett's Lake
We're getting dangerously close to the Sussex border here, as the border between Kent and Sussex passes through the middle of this lake, with Sussex on the left and Kent on the right, as seen from the camera. This small lake, like many others hereabouts, is a relic of the early iron industry: it is now used for fishing, and the owners thoughtfully give concessions to pensioners and to boys.
