Sedgeford station > LinkExternal link was the first station after Heacham, serving the West Norfolk railway which became part of the Lynn and Hunstanton Railway in 1872, which in turn was acquired by the Great Eastern Railway in 1890. The line was single track > LinkExternal link and the station had one platform only in the down direction. The platform is still in place and the station buildings and signal box > LinkExternal link have survived as a private residence, complete with station sign, GER notices, an old telegraph pole and the old gate > LinkExternal link on the former level crossing immediately to the east of the station. Due to rising costs and falling passenger numbers the line closed in 1952. A freight service continued to operate until 1963.
