Glazier's inscription, Oake church
Glazier's inscription, Oake church
Within St Bartholomew's church, shown in ST1525 : Oake church. This is one of the panes of glass in a large six-light window in the north wall, said to have been brought here from the priory at Taunton after its dissolution in 1535, and installed the wrong way round LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) . The upper part of the inscription seems to suggest that the gentleman was a plumber and glazier.
