Berwick-Upon-Tweed Architecture : The Lions House
Berwick-Upon-Tweed Architecture : The Lions House
This fine C18th house is a prominent landmark when walking along the eastern section of the town walls. The elegant restraint of the facade is emphasised by the contrasting wildly grotesque faces of the lions couchant on the rusticated gate piers. Go and have a look - they really are ugly beasts.
