The States of Coalcleugh
The States of Coalcleugh
Looking down the Shieldridge Burn towards Whetstone Mea, Allotment House and Rushymea on Isaa's Tea Trail. The States was the land won from the moorland for hay and homes for the miner-farmers working mainly in the Coalcleugh lead mines in the 1700s. The view is from the road seen by cyclists on the C2C between Nenthead and Allenheads.
