Raven Mill
Raven Mill
The top of the tower. This was always the element where the architect applied his decorative skills. The influence of Art Nouveau is clearly apparent here.
Raven Mill
Built to the designs of P. S. Stott in 1905, the tower shows the influence of the Art Nouveau style of the period. Although the chimney, slightly truncated, remains, the engine house has disappeared. The engine was of 1500 hp, by Buckley and Taylor.
Generally the fabric of this mill remains in good condition, probably due to the fact that it remains in single-ownership. It is the returns centre for a large international mail-order organisation.
