TQ9165 : Piles in the Northern Relief Road

taken 7 years ago, near to Kemsley, Kent, Great Britain

Piles in the Northern Relief Road
Piles in the Northern Relief Road
The route of this new road leads from the Eurolink Industrial Estate towards Kemsley. This set of piles is part of the foundations for a bridge over the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Railway.
In the background on the right is Kemsley Paper Mill.
Church Marshes Country Park is on the left. The large machine in the centre is a pile driver. These can 'thump' up to 20 piles a day depending on the conditions of the ground.
