Road to Castleton
Road to Castleton
Straight ahead for Castleton turn right for Commondale. The white stone just past the junction on the right is White Cross. This stands at the point where five ancient tracks meet, one of which is now the modern road leading down into Castleton along Three Howes Rigg. The track to the left is Turngate, once an old drove road. People drive past at 60 miles per hour and have not a clue about the area.
