SU6285 : Quiet Lane

taken 7 years ago, near to Ipsden, Oxfordshire, Great Britain

Quiet Lane
Quiet Lane
Much understandable grumbling and frowning among residents when the council for some reason installed these Quiet Lane bollards along lanes that were obviously..err..quiet.
Home produced stickers soon appeared on the new notices reading "This Is How We Waste Your Money", but being only paper eventually deteriorated into mucky square splurges as seen here.
The bollards however still remain, gradually cracking in the weather and collecting bird poo.
You Can't Fight City Hall.
The craziest thing is on the other side of this one is the same sign with a line through it, presumably to let you know it's officially not quiet any more.
The main Oxford - Reading road is about 5 metres away.
Hmm. Thanks for that.
