Eastern edge of Mendip Vale station
Mendip Vale is the western terminus of the 4 kilometre (2.5 mile) heritage East Somerset Railway route from Cranmore. The station is located about 500 metres east of the southeast edge of Shepton Mallet.
The route is mostly single track. The short length of double track here is to allow the locomotive to travel to the other end of the train for the return journey.
