Propping up a bit of Morningside
Propping up a bit of Morningside
Surely it can't be true that Morningside is all about appearances and no substance, or, as some locals would put it more crudely, "A' fur coat and nae knickers!". I'm told the gap came about as a result of a tenement being demolished not long after it was built over the subterranean Jordan Burn which passes under the road at this point. It was due to be filled in with modern flats when the credit crunch bit in 2009. Now, after some delay, the plan is for a new supermarket to replace these shops.
