Pingo Pond
Pingo Pond
Not much to look at now (better in the winter months) the ponds have dried up. 20,000 years ago during the last ice age the semi frozen tundra stretched for miles. Littered with glacial erratics and pingos. Where ice has formed a lens, pushing the ground up like a massive spot. When the ice melted the pingo 'deflated' and formed a depression.
