Sometimes you get a better indication of the shape of the land by standing back from it. Here, the steep northern face of Hay Bluff can be seen, above the trees, marking the northern end of the Black Mountains ridge. Below and to the left is Parc y Meirc, the watershed between the River Wye (right) and the Monnow. We are standing on part of the Cefn Hill open access land, also on the watershed.
