Horses at Howbury
Horses at Howbury
This rural looking scene is less than five minutes walk from Slade Green station. Horses walk past the moat, on which a swan glides. Howbury Moat existed before the Norman Conquest. There have been various manor houses within the moat, but the last one fell into dereliction in the 20th century. The end of the 17th century tithe barn appears to the left.
