The Riverside Inn
The Riverside Inn
The Riverside Inn provides good food and has accommodation available, plus it can host conferences and functions. The garden at the rear, which has picnic type tables, gives excellent views of the River Severn and the well-known Shropshire hill known as The Wrekin. The inn also has fishing rights on the river.

The inn which describes itself as a public house, has an interesting brochure, which gives the history of the building. It was built in 1750 as the vicarage to the church of St. Leonard in the nearby village of Cound. Later on it was a girls' school, and even a halt on the dismantled railway, which years ago ran between it and the River Severn. In 1878 it became a public house, and has remained so ever since.
