St Augustine's Church, Norwich
St Augustine's Church, Norwich
This is the most northerly of the 15th c. mediaeval churches of the city. The brick tower, complete with a clock, was started in 1682 and completed five years later. The 16th c. roof is arch-braced and there are both north and south aisles, parts of which are richly carved. The Victorian ‘restoration’ was more like a complete refurbishment, and took place in the 1880s.
