NC5357 : Dry Loch on the Moine

taken 7 years ago, 4 km from Achuvoldrach, Highland, Great Britain

Dry Loch on the Moine
Dry Loch on the Moine
The undercut peat edge marks the shoreline of a large loch. The loch has drained through the cut on the left of the photograph. This may have been a natural event or it may have been caused by man. The loch is not shown on the 1870s OS map so drainage must have taken place before then.
