Kessingland Beach: pumphouse and outfall
Kessingland Beach: pumphouse and outfall
The lake in the middle of the image had formed after a high tide and a night of strong onshore winds. The building in the background houses the pumps used to drain water from the marshes behind the sand dunes, which then flows across the beach towards the sea in the raised concrete channel, running left from the pumphouse, which is securely fenced off from the public.
