TQ3481 : Whitechapel Station, East London Line

taken 14 years ago, near to Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets, England

Whitechapel Station, East London Line
Whitechapel Station, East London Line
The low level at Whitechapel used to be very much the poor relation - dingy, obscure, and threatening. But the refurbishment of the East London Line has changed all that, with new bright air-conditioned trains running frequently, and the platforms brightened up to match. This photograph is taken looking north, with unit 378 178 approaching on a service to Crystal Palace.
