Derelict site, Aberthaw Road, Alway, Newport
A triangular shaped area of now derelict land on the north side of Aberthaw Road and on the east side of Liswerry Road was formerly the site of The Seven Stiles pub, now demolished. Seven Stiles was the name of an area of farmland on which the Alway and Ringland estates were later built. The name survives in 'Seven Stiles Avenue' LinkExternal link on Newport Retail Park.
Adjacent to the pub was a William Hill betting shop, now the derelict building seen here. William Hill relocated to new premises nearby, on Alway Parade.LinkExternal link
