A chequerboard hillside, Clog Knowe
Not a conscious attempt to make landscape art, but the result of heather burning in blocks for management of the habitat for grouse rearing. The dark green heather contrasts with the paler burnt sections in which grasses are now at their peak. Compare with NT3141 : Patterns in the heather, Clog Knowe for a similar view in November 2008.
