Gee Cross Well Dressing 2010
Gee Cross Well Dressing 2010
The Gee Cross Well Dressing ceremony ends with a service in Hyde Chapel. The last stop is by a display produced by year 7 students from Alder Community High School.

The theme for 2010 is the World Cup. The display made out of recycled materials tries to show that saving the world's resources is everyone's responsibility and that the World Cup is a way of bringing people together to celebrate all the different nations of the world.

Gee Cross Well Dressing
Although well-dressing is a custom mostly confined to Derbyshire, it can be seen in adjacent counties too. Well dressing celebrations were held regularly in Gee Cross from the 1820s until 1878. The custom was revived by the local Women's Institute in 2000.
