Pit Lane/Hassock Lane South
Pit Lane as the name suggests was a narrow lane that once led to one of the many collieries once common in the area. The colliery has long gone and the site is now occupied by the American Adventure Theme Park. Pit Lane has been widened to cater for the increased traffic and the large sign that now announces the Park stands on the site of a former omnibus garage. Hassock Lane South changes to Hassock Lane North not far from this junction and continues to become Hardy Barn SK4444 : The American Adventure as it approaches Heanor.
