Carnforth: 'Steamtown' coaling plant
Looking across from Platform 2 at Carnforth station, the coaling plant at 'Steamtown' is easily seen. It is said to be in poor condition, and local information strongly suggests that it is no longer in use. 'Steamtown' is not open to the public now. I am indebted to Ian Taylor for this information.
