Wickham Skeith St Andrew's Church
The tower is very large and disproportionate to the church. The ringing chamber is just inside the west door. There are three scratch dials on the south side. The lovely old font has quatrefoil designs around the bowl and wodewoses guarding the base. Behind the Laudian style altar rail is the restored piscina. On the floor below are three ledger stones linked together with incised buckles. Next to the opening to the rood loft stairs are three lovely niches with splayed sills and image stools. Opposite, on the south wall behind the organ, is a single much larger niche. A few steps up to the western gallery gives a nice overview of the nave and chancel. An old bier stands under the gallery, now used as a table for leaflets.
